MW TIPAIMUKH HYDRO ELECTRIC PROJECT![]()
This project will be one of the largest hydroelectric project in Eastern India to date and will be located 500 meters downstream of the confluence of the Tuivai and Barak Rivers in the District of Churacchander in the State of Manipur, near the Manipur - Mizoram border. The Project will have a 6 X 250 MW power house and will be completed in an estimated time of 12 years. The reservoir capacity
of this Project is 15.5 billion metric cube shall be higher by 75% than
the Bhakra reservoir. After completion of this Project, the perennial
flood problems in the Barak valley in the State of Assam will be stopped
and fertile land in this plain shall become rice bound for entire North
East. |
